Engaging with campus and community: Insights from a traveling exhibition

Exhibitions draw people to libraries. They encourage visitors engage with objects and media in a public space provide opportunities for discovery within the library’s collection. Not every library has resources create original exhibitions, however. Traveling which arrive ready set up existing space, can alleviate some of labor involved creating exhibitions while providing same benefits library. The Penn State University Libraries, Georgia Southern Mississippi Libraries each hosted Americans Holocaust , traveling exhibition from United States Memorial Museum, late 2021 early 2022. In this article, we describe ways leveraged community engagement, as well keys success that inform other academic libraries considering hosting exhibition.
